College LANCH Application Information

The Wake Forest College LAUNCH for Leadership Program is designed for high-performing high school students who are college bound. Admissions decisions are based on the application information, essays, recommendation from school personnel, and unofficial high school transcript. Admissions decisions are not made on the basis of race and or gender. The College LAUNCH for Leadership Program is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements to apply.

Eligibility:

  • Current high school sophomores (students participate in the program during junior year).
  • A clean high school disciplinary record.
  • A strong academic background combined with a genuine passion for learning.
  • Unofficial high school transcript.
  • Applicants must be located in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, or the surrounding communities, as Scholars are required to attend monthly in-person events at their regional Wake Forest University campus (Winston-Salem Main Campus or Charlotte Campus).

*Please note that all programs are conducted in English. Students must be fluent in English to fully participate. Applications submitted in a language other than English cannot be considered for admission to the program.

Who should apply?

We encourage applications from students who exhibit a strong dedication to academic discovery, leadership development, and social justice.

Application Components:

  • Two well-crafted essays that respond to the question prompts. 
  • A recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or administrator who knows the student well.
  • A self-reported GPA.
  • Unofficial high school transcript.

Admissions Decisions

Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning in January. There is a limited number of spots available for the College LAUNCH program. If accepted, students must complete registration including the required forms in order to confirm their seat in the cohort.
