Environmental Studies Certificates at Goucher College

Are you interested in continuing your education within the environmental studies field? Join Goucher College faculty members as they explain their courses in our three environmental studies post-baccalaureate certificate programs. The following faculty will present on their courses:

Coreen Welminster: ENV–605 Climate Change and Society

  • This course offers an integrative approach to climate change, providing an overview of the complex and multidisciplinary sciences underpinning climate science and its challenges to social and political accommodation.

Erik Assadourian: ENV–618 Environmental Education

  • This course investigates the role of education in solving environmental problems and developing environmental literacy.

Kathy Chambliss: ENV–639 Citizen Science

  • This course aims to engage environmental educators in expanding fields of citizen science, volunteer environmental monitoring, and public participation in the process of scientific investigations. 

Spencer Phillips: ENV–634 Environment, Development, & Economics

  • This course examines how natural resources intersect with social and economic-development initiatives.
