Multicultural and Access Programs

The Office of Undergraduate Admission offers a variety of access and inclusion programming that supports diverse, multicultural, and underrepresented students and their families at each step of the college application process.

PreviewTU (PTU) Visit Day

PreviewTU is a campus visit program for all prospective students. Given the tailored nature of programming offered; however, students who identify with one or more of the following identities are especially encouraged to attend: first in their household to attend college, LGBTQIA+, students from low-income backgrounds, students from rural or small towns, and/or students of color.

PTU allows students to connect with our Diversity Fellows, learn more about admissions for selective universities, and connect with campus resources. These programs a re hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admission in partnership with the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life and the Center for Academic Equity. This year, PTU will be offered both virtually and in person.

PreviewTU

Saturday, October 14th
1pm—7pm

PTU will be held on Tulane’s campus in partnership with our Campus Preview Day (CPD) event on Saturday, October 14th. Students will participate in morning programming including a campus tour, a student panel, and sessions with Admission and Financial Aid. In the afternoon, students will have lunch with our Diversity Fellows, connect with professors and campus support partners, and end the day with a celebration on the quad!

Students interested in attending PreviewTU with financial need are eligible for partial travel reimbursement stipends up to $500 for them and one guest. Please see the PreviewTU FAQ page for additional information.

Travel reimbursement stipends will be approved on a first-come, first-served, rolling basis. For priority consideration, please submit your registration form by September 5th.

Virtual PreviewTU

Tuesday, October 10th – Thursday, October 12th

Please join us for Virtual PreviewTU! Students will have the opportunity to connect with our Diversity Fellows, learn more about admissions for selective universities, and connect with campus resources. These programs are hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admission in partnership with the Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life and the Center for Academic Equity.

Virtual PTU is open to all prospective students. Given the tailored nature of programming offered; however, students who identify with one or more of the following identities are especially encouraged to attend: first in their household to attend college, LGBTQIA+, students from low-income backgrounds, students from rural or small towns, and/or students of color.

Students may register for one, two, or all three of our Virtual PTU evening programs, but must register for each evening separately. Students participating in PreviewTU on Saturday, October 14th are also welcome to attend Virtual PTU.

BienvenueTU (BTU) Visit Day

Each Spring, the Office of Undergraduate Admission hosts in-person and virtual programming for admitted students called BienvenueTU.

BTU programming is open to all admitted students, however, please note that this program has been designed to build community and meet the interests and needs of students who have been historically underrepresented at Tulane, including students who are first in their household to attend college, identify as LGBTQIA+, students from low-income backgrounds, students from rural or small towns, and/or students of color.

At BTU, you can expect to:

Families arriving to campus early will be provided with a selection of optional activities to enjoy, including programming hosted as part of Tulane Black Alumni Weekend.

Families attending BienvenueTU should also plan on attending Destination Tulane on Saturday, February 24th.

Travel stipends are available for students who demonstrate high financial need. Eligible students should receive additional communication regarding funding by February 6th and should wait to book their travel.

Virtual BienvenueTU

Virtual BienvenueTU will be hosted in mid-March and will include opportunities to connect with Admissions and Financial Aid, learn about resources offered by the Center for Intercultural Life and the Center for Academic Equity, and build community with current Tulane students and each other.

Group Visits

In addition to our daily tours, Tulane also welcomes tours for special groups. These tours serve groups of 8 people or more from community-based organizations, high schools, service organizations, youth groups, and more. Learn more about our group tours.

College Access Workshops

The Office of Undergraduate Admission hosts a number of workshops for high school students locally and nationwide. Sessions are designed to improve college readiness for all grade levels. Program components can include anything from college application workshops, virtual information sessions, or panels, to community events, parent nights, and much more.
