Business Programs for High School Students


Learn about business with these fun summer business programs.

Olin offers three summer programs specifically created for high school students to learn about business. In each program, you experience life on campus, meet like-minded college-bound students and learn business fundamentals.

  • Gateway to Business

    This hybrid course introduces you to business, leadership and teamwork skills development and career preparedness. Students have three virtual sessions and a one-week residential experience on Washington University’s campus in St. Louis.

    • Earn college credit while developing business savvy.
    • Refine professional communications, including resume, cover letters and LinkedIn profile.
    • Build your personal brand and develop a personal statement for your college essay.
    • Become familiar with different fields within business.
    • Problem-solve for a real-world client through an experiential learning project.
    • Deepen your leadership and teamwork skills.
    • Spend a week on WashU’s campus engaging with faculty and professionals from involved organizations and fellow students.

    • Virtual Sessions: June 13, 20 and 27, 2024
    • Residential Session: July 7-13, 2024 

    Who can attend

    Gateway to Business program eligibility:

    • Rising sophomore, junior or senior in high school (graduating in 2025)
    • US resident

    Program cost

    $4,850

    The program fee covers tuition, course materials, housing, meals, transportation and enrichment activities. Once a student is admitted into the program, we require a non-refundable $1,100.00 deposit. This deposit holds a student’s place in the program and is deducted from the total program fee due.

  • BOLD@Olin

    The WashU BOLD@Olin program immerses you in life-changing opportunities for learning, networking and personal growth. Learn from our faculty, network with current students and accomplished business professionals, gain experience working on case studies and discover the many areas of study available at WashU Olin. This residential program includes a week on the WashU campus in St. Louis.

    2024 Dates

    • July 7-11, 2024 

    Who can attend

    • Rising junior or senior high school students (graduating in 2025)
    • Competitive applicants will have a 3.5 grade point average or higher

    Program cost

    • $1,200

    On-campus housing, meals and all program activities are included in the cost.

  • Olin Fleischer Scholars Program

    The Fleischer Scholars Program will not be offered this summer.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

    The Olin Fleischer Scholars Program (OFSP) provides a week-long educational experience for first-generation college-bound students or students from low-income households. This program is designed to help you learn about business, build teamwork and presentation skills and prepare for the college admissions process.

    Who Can Attend

    • Rising high school junior and seniors (graduating in 2025)
    • First-in-family to college students and/or students from low-income households

    Preference is given to students from the Midwest region.

    • None
    • The program is completely free for students accepted into the program.
