The Bates Center’s cultivation of collaborations enriches the Lewis & Clark student experience. This page highlights some of these partnerships.

Liberal arts training prepares future leaders to grapple with opportunities, risks and complexities of humans in society.

Liberal arts education  +  students meeting leaders in their field  +  the mindset of innovation, enterprise and leadership  =  students possessing knowledge, freedom and network to create new solutions.

As Steve Jobs famously said ” “It is in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough — it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.” 

 

 

 

 

The Babson Collaborative

Lewis & Clark has recently joined an organization called the Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education. This is a group of 30 colleges in 20 countries all around the world who work together to create best practices for dynamic entrepreneurship education. Our membership includes programs that directly benefit our students including Babson’s masters programs with waived GMAT (for most),waived application fee, and an automatic $10,000 scholarship. Additionally, we want to share these two opportunities with you:

1. The Global Student Challenge is a competition across all member schools where student teams work on new business concepts that address the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We would love to see our students participate this year. If you are interested, we note that class projects and Winterim pitches can be the base of your concept.

Babson will provide an overview of the annual Collaborative Global Student Challenge, highlight resources, share best practices from past participants, and answer any questions you may have. This webinar will be recorded and posted to the member portal. Register here.

2. The Babson Collaborative Student Network (BCSN) is a global student club for select student leaders (called ambassadors) from Collaborative member schools around the world. Ambassadors engage with a global network of peers, learn about entrepreneurship trends from market experts, and develop leadership skills while planning events for a broader student audience. LC will choose four student ambassadors to represent us in the Student Network. If you are interested, contact Catarina Hunter at chunter@clark.edu.
