Schedule
5-week summer residential program (with a commuter option). Students follow a set curriculum of classes.
4-week online courses offered summer, fall, and spring.
Eligibility
Must be a rising junior or senior (entering 11th or 12th grade).
Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior (entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade).
Format & Experience
An immersive in-person experience: live in residence halls, get a taste of college life, events, and exhibitions.
Flexible online learning: classes can be taken from anywhere in a mix of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (pre-recorded) sessions.
Classwork
6-hour studio courses and shared collaborative studio work space gives the opportunity to work side-by-side with other serious students.
3-hour live sessions and online engagement offer time for making, feedback and discussions with peers interested in becoming changemakers.
Curriculum
Students follow a set curriculum of classes with a broad introduction to art and design foundations.
Curriculum has a thematic focus on the artist’s role as an agent of change, and courses are offered as part of a certificate program.

Access RISD’s world-class facilities: Nature Lab, Museum, Library, studios, specialized equipment, and the RISD Store.
Learn to set up your own studio space. Develop a practice embedded in your community and surroundings while accessing RISD’s online resources.
