Campus Living Housing Options First-year students can select single or double room types from an array of on-campus residence hall buildings. All housing options come furnished and include all utilities, wireless internet, and on-site laundry. View 3-D floorplans, housing details, and residence photos online.

Living Learning (LL) & Theme Communities (TC) These housing options offer students the opportunity to live with other students who share similar interests, majors, or goals. LLC and TC students participate in a variety of activities associated with their community. Students living on campus have access to multiple dining options, academic help, and late-night convenience stores in the Peterson Heritage Center, Marriott Honors Community, Lassonde Studios, and Kahlert Village. Campus shuttles take you to classes and events, while local buses and light rail take you downtown and to seven world-class ski resorts.

Freshman Admission Evaluation Process We evaluate applicants through a holistic review process, which helps ensure we give all students the best opportunity to present a complete picture of their qualifications. Our holistic review includes consideration of the following: N E W ! Test Optional for Fall 2021 Freshman Applicants The University of Utah is Test Optional for freshman applications for Fall 2021 admission. ACT/SAT scores are not required for admission, merit scholarships (including department scholarships), or direct admission programs (including Engineering). Freshman Application Process Apply Apply online at admissions.utah.edu/apply or find us in the Common Application. Submit the Application Fee The $55 application fee is nonrefundable. Select Test Optional or Submit ACT/SAT Scores on Your Application ACT and SAT scores must be sent electronically by the testing agency. Request your scores using test code 4274 for the ACT, and 4853 for the SAT. Submit Transcripts Official high school and/or university transcripts must be sent to the Office of Admissions directly from all schools a student attends. We also accept electronic transcripts from Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, Credentials Solutions, eScrip-Safe, and Scoir. Transfer Admission Evaluation Process The admissions holistic evaluation process at the University of Utah promotes student success by assessing student preparedness and academic potential in the context of each applicant’s personal experience. Transfer applicants will be considered for admission after meeting the following requirements: Previous graduation from an accredited high school or the equivalent (e.g. GED). A cumulative GPA of 2.6 or higher. Students who have an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science from a regionally accredited institution may be considered for admission with a 2.35 GPA or higher. Applicants who have fewer than 30 semester hours completed at the time of application are also required to submit an official high school transcript and official ACT/SAT test scores using school code 4274 for ACT and 4853 for SAT. 10

Scholarships and Financial Aid Our Scholarships and Financial Aid office is dedicated to helping make college affordable. The University of Utah offers a full range of grants, work-study, loans, and scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, and contribution to overall campus diversity. For Utah Scholarship For Utah Scholarship creates a fully funded path to a University of Utah degree for Utah residents. The scholarship covers four years of tuition and fees for Pell Grant-eligible Utah residents. Visit admissions.utah.edu/forutah for more information.

Fall 2021 Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Tuition

WUE provides a tuition discount for nonresident high school seniors (residents of one of the 15 western U.S. states noted in the map) who will be first-time entering freshmen. Approved applicants receive an adjusted tuition rate that is 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate. The award will be for all four years of study at the University of Utah. Establishing Residency for In-state Tuition The University of Utah offers in-state tuition to students who change their residency to the state of Utah.
