Numerous private higher ed. institutions receive state grants

(25News Now) - Numerous private colleges and universities in the Heart of Illinois and around the state are receiving a chunk of $400 million in grants from the state.

The Illinois Board of Higher Education says the money comes from the Independent Colleges Capital Investment Grant Program, aimed at providing financial assistance to private, not-for-profit colleges and universities for the construction, repair and renovation of campus infrastructure.

45 colleges and universities around Illinois received money. The ones in our area are:

  • Bradley University - $14,858,758
  • Eureka College - $3,080,934
  • Illinois Wesleyan University - $5,060,306
  • Methodist College/Unity Point Health - $1,721,960
