Last year, our university celebrated its 125th anniversary this year, meaning that many Shockers have preceded you.
When you’re in the Rhatigan Student Center and see the pictures of students from many years ago, look beyond the clothing and hairstyles and think about this: Some of them were people a lot like you, unsure about their futures, but convinced that higher education would open new doors.
Whether you are in the classroom, laboratory, library or learning online, you aren’t the customer or the audience, you are the most important participant in your own education. Your strength, spirit and hard work are required.
