On Campus Resources

The Office of the Registrar handles class registration, advising, and records management for students. They can also facilitate pronoun and gender marker changes (Gender Marker Update).

There are many single-user restrooms throughout campus. Some are gendered and some are non-gendered or gender neutral. UC's Department of Planning, Designing, and Construction is committed to meeting the diverse needs of UC students and has created a policy that requires any new building at UC to have at least one gender neutral restroom. Gender inclusive restrooms are frequently influx on campus and we strive to maintain the most updated list possible. If you find a discrepancy, please email us.

  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in the university's programs and activities. Sexual harassment, including sexual violence, and retaliation are forms of discrimination prohibited by Title IX. UC's Office of Gender Equity & Inclusion (OGEI) is located at 225 Calhoun St. and can be reached via phone at 513-556-6315
  • The Office of Gender Identity & Inclusion (OGEI) also has a comprehensive list of resources in regard to Gender Identity Resources in general. 
  • The Office of Equal Opportunity & Access is responsible for ensuring compliance with university policies and federal and state laws pertaining to equal opportunity and affirmative action. CAPS is a professional counseling office within Student Affairs. We provide counseling, outreach programs, and related services for UC students and those concerned about their welfare. CAPS is located at 225 Calhoun Street, Ste. 200, and can be reached via phone at 513-556-0648.

  • The AACRC fosters an atmosphere where lively conversation is welcomed and encouraged, leadership development and academic success are prioritized, and quiet study spaces are regularly utilized. The AACRC also hosts several large-scale traditional programs that are annual marquee events of the African American experience at the University of Cincinnati.
  • The Office of Ethnic Programs and Services encourages academic excellence, positive social interaction, cultural enrichment, student leadership development and community service. We value each and every contact with members of the university community and see every interaction as an opportunity to encourage positive relationships.

WGSS is the academic home for the study of women and gender at the University of Cincinnati. Through interdisciplinary teaching, research and community outreach, it seeks to create a more inclusive and transformative understanding of women and men. The department explores the intersections of race, nationality, class, gender and sexuality. Informed by feminist perspectives, it nurtures the development of leaders, scholars and activists and builds scholarly community among core and affiliate faculty across the university. The department serves as a catalyst for curricular, institutional, societal and global change.

Local, State, and National Resources

AVEN hosts the world's largest online asexual community as well as a large archive of resources on asexuality. AVEN strives to create open, honest discussion about asexuality among sexual and asexual people alike.

BRAVO is your link to survivor advocacy and assistance regarding hate crimes, discrimination, domestic violence, and sexual assault. BRAVO is a founding member of the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP).

The Bisexual Resource Center is the oldest national bi organization in the U.S. that advocates for bisexual visibility and raises awareness about bisexuality throughout the LGBT and straight communities.

Cincinnati Men's Chorus is a voluntary, not-for-profit community chorus organized to provide the opportunity for gay men and gay-supportive men to sing together.

Equality Ohio serves as an advocate and champion for fair treatment and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender citizens.

Lighthouse offers an integrated system of care for ages 0-24 designed to guide and track their progress over time. This includes mental health services, including same-day assessments, as well as youth housing, emergency shelter, community juvenile justice services, residential treatment, and foster care and adoption.
