The Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University prepares you for career advancement across a number of fields dealing with workplace productivity and behaviors, including human resources, training, management, consulting, coaching, and organization development. Research design, statistics, and psychology provide the foundation for advanced study in selection training, performance appraisal, worker motivation, and organization development. At Hofstra you will also gain valuable hands-on experience through internships at business and public agencies. Full-time students finish in as little as two years. All students are considered for academic merit-based scholarships. Individuals with a relevant master’s degree may explore the PhD in Applied Organizational Psychology.

Consideration for the MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, requires successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, business, or a related field with a B average or better. Prerequisite courses are also required in introductory psychology and elementary statistics with a B average or better.

  • Transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. You may initially submit unofficial copies of your transcripts for your application review, but official transcripts will be required once you are accepted into the program.
  • GRE requirement has been waived for fall 2024 admission.
  • Written statement of professional goals.
